COLOR TAILS

To see what you want your customers to see, feel what you want your customers to feel, and to do what you want customers to do colors plays an important role.
Cadbury being my one of my favorite brand of all times always gave me a thought why that brand chose rich purple as it´s packaging color, very few food brands actually chose colors like purple. It is mysterious to know that purple is a low arousal color, it is traditionally associated with royalty, majesty or nobility as well as having a spiritual or mysterious quality. Purple is best used for targeting a female audience, it doesn’t even rank for men. Although royalty and value can be seen as positive associations, they also have negative connotations, and can often communicate hastily.
81 Color Meanings in BusinessColor and Meaning in Business Branding
Cadbury chocolate uses a dark rich purple associating their brand with luxury and quality. It’s aimed not only for children but also at the adult market. It’s not difficult to imagine indulging yourself with chocolate and getting lost in daydreaming…. Wearing Cadbury’s purple shade would probably be a fashion faux-pas.
Purple logo shows that your brand is luxurious and imaginative. Purple also represents high end products, the most expensive properties on Monopoly, Park Lane and Mayfair both had purple cards. It attracts consumers who want to be seen as wealthy or wise, as well as ones who are inclined towards a feeling of magic or mystery.

Blue creates a sense of security and trust in a brand. People are 15% more likely to retain your shop if it’s painted blue. It’s also associated with productivity, and it’s non-invasive. Blue’s sense of confidence is what makes it the favorite color used by financial institutions. The color is also known to inspire loyalty. The JP Morgan, Facebook, American Express, LinkedIn, and Dell use this color on their brands. But also the colors blue and purple have been associated with toxins and thus decrease the appetite of customers. Yet, if you notice Cafe coffee day uses the color blue, reason being blue is generally linked with relaxation. So if someone owns a coffee house where you want people to have a relaxing time and enjoy their beverages, blue and purple are your colors. Cafe Coffee Day makes abundant use of the color purple too and is one of the most popular coffee destinations in the country. On the contrary Starbucks another popular coffee destination uses green color in their logos. Starbucks’ green continually communicates ideals of calmness and sophistication, Starbucks’s green is also intended to promote international peace, not to mention stability and consistency in their product, amounts of green on their walls becomes a symbol of comfort for many people allowing them to de-stress.
Moreover, a green logo conveys the message that your company is environmentally friendly. It explains why it is so popular with organic and vegetarian brands, as well as companies that strive for ethical practices. It can also be a good choice for financial companies, since it reminds consumers of money.

Did you ever noticed from famous food brands to the brands commonly known to us lies one similarity that is the color red. From Coca-cola to KFC, Canon, Kellogg´s, Red Bull to Nestle preferred using the color red in their company logos. The color red attracts attention and evokes strong emotions from viewers.
It also causes increased heart rate and appetite, as well as a sense of urgency. That is the trick that food houses play with us. Also, brand logos in red are no doubt memorable. Red logos grab customer attention, and if you want to attract your target market towards your brand, use the color red.picture results of sale picturesIsn't it interesting that the word sale is mostly written in red creating a sense of urgency to buy. The color red excites our emotions and inspires us to take action.

Pictures of Macdonald's resultsMcDonald´s on the other hand uses yellow along with red, Yellow represents optimism, youthfulness, creates an atmosphere of positivity around the brand, it is also used to highlight the brand, you can easily detect the M of the logo from quite a far distance.

Although Ikea brand colors are symbolic, the psychological properties of these colors are still in play. The staff are very helpful and happy. They also use a dark blue representation trust, communication and loyalty. Yellow logos generally shows that the brand is friendly. It’s also used to grab the attention of window shoppers. Although too much yellow causes' anxiety, using right proportion is much need.

Yellow not only highlights, but also it gives a sense of caution in our mind, it aware our mind, that´s why it is widely used in roads.
Another trick with colors that company plays all year long and it works all year long too is with orange and black. Orange is thought to represent playfulness, creativity, and excitement, which is why it is often used by children’s brands and companies hoping to appeal to young people, such as the kids’ cable channel Nickelodeon. Orange is also believed to stimulate an appetite or thirst — likely due to the color’s connection to citrus fruits. Mystery and darkness are perhaps the most obvious associations with the color black — especially during October. But black also signifies elegance, timelessness, sophistication and prestige. Orange and black are a striking combination — just look at a monarch butterfly or a tiger to see how incredible this pairing can be. Exciting, energetic orange plays off of sophisticated and reserved black. This type of contrast can be very powerful, conveying nuances of your brand’s personality while evoking multiple emotions from your audience.Image results of amazon As we have already said color speaks, it depicts this company is dominant but approachable. Amazon arrow-smile is intended to “communicate the company’s mission of being the most customer-centric company in the world, most notably by depicting the ultimate expression of customer satisfaction: a smile.” Similarly,

It says this is a company that you can get excited about because it empowers you.
Black is perfect for a credit card company like Discover because the color represents power and stability. The term “in the black” means that something is financially sound. The orange, spherical “o” in the logo — reminiscent of a sun — adds energy and excitement, and emphasizes all the possibilities available with a Discover card. Putting it together we’ll notice that they don’t strictly or even overwhelmingly favor one industry and yet, the color combination is a fitting reflection of each brand because the designers paid close attention to what these colors signified.

Image results of addidaspictures of mac cosmetics results may be 3 brand examples are enough to depict about this color and what it depicts. To clarify more this is the color of sophistication, mystery, power and control. It’s the color used to sell sleek items, and brands sold to those who like reserved brands. It mostly dominates the high-end cosmetic packaging industries. Black is used to commonly target youth and a high-end audience. When used too much it can be subliminally repulsive as it will denote negativity and oppression.
Pictures of brands in blackLastly, comes the most clean color.....obviously it´s white. It’s the most common color used by marketers when advertised coupons and price discounts. Some of the biggest global brands like Google use white to create contrast on their home pages. White is the color of clarity, freshness and used to spark creativity. That’s why it’s the most common color in office blocks. .We all might be thinking now why google is using so many colors in itÅ› logo?? Logic being they are the base colors (red, blue, yellow), but they used the “green” -which is a secondary color,- as well with the idea of showing that Google isn't following the rules, it's not a conventional company.

The markets have become more competitive, and product cycles have shortened, and therefore every marketer has to exploit each rule in the book in order to generate sales. At the end of the day, every firm has to think through how their brand colors affect customer reaction and the eventual sales.

JIO - (Joint Implementation Opportunities)

In the hyper competitive market of the Telecom sector in India Reliance JIO not only entered the game but changed the full game, successfully winning the game, giving digital oxygen(free data). While other telecom sectors of India were focusing on either data plans or calling/roaming plans, JIO entered the game with the whole new concept of exciting Packages, 100% free offers, New year offers, Jio dhan dhana dhan offers, Summer exciting offers and yes it is very typical of Indians that we get excited whenever we came to hear words like free, offers and off course we are exited when this offers comes on any occasion it seems a gift to us from that company.
However, if someone gives us everything free then that sounds suspicious!!So let´s see few figures before JIO entered Indian Telecom market-1. There were more than 1 billion mobile users in India, out of which only 34% were connected to the internet.2. Only 12 percent from these 1 billion used 3G data or above.
So when JIO entered in 83 days 50,000,000 Customer database and in 170 days it has 100,000,000 database, which is nearly 2 times of what Facebook, snap chat or watsapp did. Moreover, it shifted to 4G and now it is trying to move it to 5G network for us.
1 JIO users nearly consumes 6-7 times more data than any other users. Within few months people get so addicted using internet all the time that it is hard for them to leave that. Previously, there used to be special plans for unlimited calling only during night hours. Data consumption used to be so costly maybe we used to sacrifice downloading a song or watching videos in YouTube if we have to do a video chat with someone. Well, good new days are here.Jio came up with different marketing strategies, investing so much of money must not be a trial-error game-
1. Loss Leader Strategy- When a product is sold at loss, to attract more no. of customers, so that in future with huge user base it can recover it´ s loss. Many business like Amazon or Tesla used this strategy.
Stock Reaction: Reliance Industries Shares Extend Gains Post ...Reliance JIO invested 1,500 Billion to put this in perspective – this is more than two times the combined investment of Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone in the 4G Segment. The main investment of any telecom company was to laid the  optical fibre network and once it´s being laid the cost of operating is not very huge. Using simple math, you will be able to realize that if 60% of the people in India if they use 1GB internet per month then JIO can recover the initial investment in 3 years.
So, their focus was on undercut the market price by giving attractive discounts and free promotional Data and to get more and more no. of customers
attach to JIO services.

The word ´Volume´ played the major role in JIO.

2. Razor-blade strategy- in this strategy the razor will be given for free and then it will charge you for it´s accessories like how Gillette used to do.
After giving free data it started charging for JIO apps, LYF mobile phones and its recharges. When other companies used to charge around 4 times like retailers, JIO came up giving packages and more data like whole sellers' mindset. On an average in India a telecom company generates a revenue of around 150-160 over there JIO charged for 99 prime plans+ 1st recharge of 309, then the revenue is already recovered by 3 months plan.
The major consumption of data in India is for videos active user based generates more revenue now Hotstar, Netflix have already entered in India, we are more addicted to videos be it introducing a new cooking videos in YouTube or most trending song videos. In true sense bringing JIO in India made India much more digitized and people are more aware of their surroundings.
In an interview, he said, “I believe that if you create societal value, customer value and employee value, and if you focus on these, the economic return is a by-product.” Going by the current scenario, in which Reliance JIO is certainly creating societal and customer value, the company will very likely generate monumental revenues in the future.

  DEMONETIZATION

¨The lack of money, the root of all evil ¨- Mark Twain
´De´monetization was the root of evil for India for a period. It was more like an unleashed wind which destroyed many families in India and within overnight, they were pulled down to roads. The government of India declared on 5th of November 2016 that notes of 1000 and 500 rupees are invalid.
Demonetization effected the economy in short term. India major sector like economic sector, MSME sector affected the most.
On a survey made Surat alone, 89000 power looms were sold as scrap and it led to a loss of 31,000 jobs. There was a countless example from big markets to industrial clusters that were affected by demonetization.
Not only it affected the industrialist it also affected the common people, Demonetization was announced in the evening around 7 pm, when most of the people were working in office particularly in IT sectors and many of them were not allowed to take any gadgets inside the room were they were working, I being one of them had no idea about it and when the office gets over we all came to know that the notes had been banned. That news was good enough to put any common man in trouble who do not stay in their own home and had to buy food every day. ATM by that time was already filled with 100 people and many a time after standing for an hour or two that used to listen that ATM is done with the money. Unfortunately many in spite of having money had starved for 1-2 days because of lack of money.
The biggest disadvantage of demonetization was once peopled get to know about it raised a frenzy and chaotic environment everywhere. The public wants to get rid of demonetized notes which sometimes had let to law and order problem.
Many Indian housewives store money secretly so that they could be of help during times of financial crisis. So due to demonetization, the accumulated wealth is of no use until and unless they are exchanged in banks.
As cash is the most preferred medium of transaction and fewer people use banking system in India. Their immediate anger shifted to mismanaged banks and unprepared banking system. The banks couldn't provide enough newly designed banknotes of 500 and 2000 to substitute the canceled notes. The people have taken in conserving whatever cash they have in their hand.
Trade across all aspects of the economy has interrupted and sectors like agriculture, fishing, and huge informal sectors were almost shut down almost in initial days of the announcement.
Unbaked and informal economy had a hard hit.
Even there was a much lower GDP growth with compare to previous years. There was a growing demand for which there was not enough supply. Indians preferably goes to normal shops who doesnot have an ATM use machine neither the poor people had any idea about what ATM is all about. Taking this golden opportunity China came into play. They were reaching Indian customers with better price and better and innovative goods. Chinese were importing at the cost of Indian jobs.
Though demonetization was done to get off the black money in the Indian market and with a good motive it had adverse effects on Indian economy and Indians. It was moved by the government for long-term benefits for its people overlooking the short term mismanagement by the banks. It was also an added cost and a big challenge for the government of India to produce 500 and 2000 rupees new note within a short time.
Demonetization was a great move weekend by bad execution.

The ´New´ Market-

Not so new yet very new the new market

It may sound a little confusing but this market place is not so ´new´ this market place was constructed around 1850-1902 and since then it has been a heart throbbing place it's original name is Lindsay Street or Esplanade but Bengali used to call it ´notun market´(as we like to keep nick names for every thing possible) which means New Market place and since then it is known as new market. From anything to everything name it gets it. It has got many buildings around but the main building is ´Hogg market´ being named after Sir Stuart Hogg and the ´old market ´ which is kind of basement having nearly about 2000+ shops in it. Among new ones we will get several malls surrounding that place. Apart from all this there is huge street market with mouthwatering foods and mesmerizing designs of shoes, bags, jewellery and clothes too.

Once a shopkeeper (not having a literal shop) displaying all items well-designed in a footpath(items including ´Gucci´sunglasses and ´Ray ban´ sunglasses with perfect logo and case for just Rs 500-1000) asked me if I want to buy a ´Michael Kors´ watch´ which is just Rs 1000 or else which is less than 1/4 time the price of the watch or may be less than that. So as we Indians want everything in an Indians way we love brands but most of us are not willing to pay around 30k Bucks for a watch so for them it's a golden opportunity. Apart from it this place will get you imported clothes or that same designs in much cheaper price (cheaper than the once with 80% off on online shopping site)starting from Rs 250-25000 .

Apart from western clothing it has sarees and garments shops and also original Kashmiri shawls will find in this place. This place is surrounded by loads of branded shops around it.
For Men there are shops where you will get blazers or Punjabis of different variety apart from shirts, tees, and jeans. Even this place is famous for shops which sells only school uniforms and fortunately or unfortunately for most schools they are the only shops where uniforms will be available.

This place also has some shops which is above 100 or will be touching a century within few years.

Moreover, this place got several confectioneries inside it ´Nahoum and sons´ being one of the oldest and most popular one, it is around 111 years old.

Florist shops is one of the major attractions to this place. A. Bose Pvt Ltd is there since 1874 and the best thing being it will get you fresh flower from roses to lilies at much affordable price.
Bags and shoes ranges from Rs 100-3K (bargaining plays an important role here, mostly they can bargain upto half the price of the bag) but the design and look of the bags will satisfy your need.
For children  most intresting thing is they will get most fascinated pencils, pens, pencil boxes water bottles, bags and tiffin boxes of price around Rs 150-300.

New market also contain a dozen of stunning real old crockery shops inside it.

The street market it is just not a market it is a place where friendship, meetings, bargaining come into plays. At any point of day you cannot find this place empty the most common dialogues being from customers ´Ami toh purono customer(I am one of your old customer)´, shopkeepers ¨bohunir smomoy tai diye dilam(Want to make first sell that´s why giving in this price)¨. For girls main attraction being real eye stalking jwelleries, soft toys, yumilicious foods starting from different kinds of chats, phuchkas(pani puri), kulfis, lassi and chole bature being one of my favourite dishes there among all, intrestingly all these food are starting from Rs 10-30 and you will get that same taste and the same hawker all year round and most of the food hawkers are 50-60 years old.

It also got the best butcher, fish market and vegetable market inside(a place where all religions meet for a common purpose).

This place is surrounded by Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Bus Depot, Electronics Market(anything to everything of electronic items), Park Street(Place of Restaurants). So in this place on any part of the day there will be a huge crowd from rich to poor, from office going to college going friends it is meeting place. The shopkeepers over here are mostly Muhammadans is a myth you will find all types of shopkeepers in this market.

And if someone is tired with shopping you got the best restaurants over here from Nizam´s roll to Amenia´s special biryani(yes with a big aloo)this place will steal your heart over and over again. So if someone is done with food and shopping you can enjoy with some famous movie halls (several types of hall from A grade Cinema hall to other types also)

At last if you want some sweet(K C Das being most famous) and lassi(Just few shops behind K C Dass ,to have this lassi people take a short break journey from this place ,it costs Rs 25-30 only).

New Market is just not a place to shop it has got friendships- infact it has places where you can find youngsters sitting and gossiping and hot lime tea is being served, it's an open place where you can get the view of full market with cool breeze during evening, it is wrapped with several emotions and memories. Though it has struggled many a time with fire still this place overcomes it as quickly as possible to wrap up with people around it.

A blend of traditionalism and modernity new market is for all gender ,all ages and all groups.

The speciality of new market is it never let you exceed your budget.
