A SALES WOMAN

When I grow up, I want to be a saleswoman!” … said no kid, ever.

When you were a kid, if you are female, did you think, “When I grow up I want to be a salesperson?” Probably not. You might have thought about going into business, but not into sales.
Sales wasn’t sexy, it was skeezy and it certainly didn’t speak to me as a teenage girl.

The problem is, it should have.

We were always driven by success in numbers — points scored, dollars earned, miles travelled.
Unfortunately, the sales profession is treated with disdain, and salespeople are often dehumanized, in media and popular culture.
This widespread portrayal is not just inaccurate and unfair – it discourages fantastic would-be salespeople, male and female alike.
Assumptions we normally see in a sales team and the misconception created is "Female applicants see a team of men – and they don’t want to join." though it is just a mere excuse we generally hear from the hiring team as well as the woman who don't want to join sales.

Selling is all about …Guiding the prospect or client to understand and see beyond their initial perceived value of what you offer so that they will instead realize that you what you have is the answer to what they are experiencing and need to tackle.  Position your value in terms of where they want to take their business, and also in terms of profit and loss. Qualifying the prospect or opportunity  through a strong value statement since it will help to sort out those people who just aren’t interested, have no need or no ability to buy. Creating a sense of urgency within the client’s mind and connecting them to that emotionally so they seek help now rather than later.Owning your own authentic voice  yet creating and presenting it using the language of your customer and also, if applicable, your company. Discovering the needs of your prospect or client, and aligning your value statement with what the client must resolve. Presenting benefits that shift negatives, e.g. pain points, the client faces to positive outcomes. If possible, include value-added services that are not as apparent in what they first see or hear about what you offer. Understanding the culture of both the company that you represent and the company or person that you are selling to. Awareness of what is important or critical to each should be clear in how you position the value you bring to the sale, both in terms of yourself and your product or service. Establishing a trusted partnership with the prospect or client and doing so through consistent and relevant engagement, both online and in person (if possible). Telling your story with your entire self, i.e. mind and body. Genuine regard for and interest in the prospect or client is shown through your words, your body movements, and your voice. Having a process for obtaining feedback. It is good to create a value statement and then ask someone else to listen to it and verify if you are authentically and clearly stating what you do and why, how you do it and for whom. It is best to do this type of verification with someone not in your industry or company. Also, ask your clients for feedback! and REPEAT!!

Sales departments are especially prone to inadvertently alienate female job-seekers just by failing to vet a job description for words like “killer,” “crushing it,” “rock star,” “he,” “his,” or even phrases like, “long working hours" adding this statement discourages woman and their concerned families to take it as profession.
Though, on the other side present generation to get over old trend are more enthusiastic to take up new challenges.
A woman in sales at times take a whole new view of getting the sales done.

Woman have a strong socializing skills and can engage themselves with others particularly clients, managers and other senior women in customer firms. This helps to build a broader base through relationships outside of the office.

Most sales woman have complained of pushed down in company so it is suggested to build healthy relationships with advocates, create a strong personal brand, establish guidelines before each project, position themselves as experts in their field, and communicate with confidence.
Basically to image themselves so strong that people will think twice to compete or look down as a woman.

A common myth that a male colleague will always tell is woman are good "entertainers" to male clients and mostly when a woman is standing at the door people generally don’t say no. At times woman are really in dilemma how to deal with these type of situations where a client misbehaves or communicates with a woman in a very sneaky way, offering meetings only at night and many more. Though, these stuffs is bit awkward to be shared off, but yes it totally depends how we deal with the situations or how trick fully you can extract your business. Most importantly a woman in an organization should be free to discuss this with and take opinions on it.

On the other hand, woman is good at keeping people engaged which is very important for sales.

A sales woman is known for more "hysterical" rather to be told of "passionate" but again there is punch in their behaviour they are mostly calm and soft spoken with a punch in their words.
Although, young girls, we were taught not to brag. It was a behaviour perceived as boastful and improper. This behaviour is most noticeable in networking and professional development. Women believe their accomplishments should speak for themselves, and many are hesitant to discuss things such as their education and reputation, erring on the side of modesty. Therefore, when a more senior position opens up, they assume they will be considered based on their accomplishments and credentials, despite having been reluctant to voice them.
While modestly is an admirable trait outside of the workplace, it is foolish in the professional world.
Konrath compares it to the tree falling in the forest: “If no one knows about your accomplishments, they don’t exist.”
An organization's work doesn't end after hiring a woman in sales.
When a woman joins a sales team there are different questions that arises in mind:
  1. How to build my credibility in my company and in the industry?
  2. How do I know if I’m being paid properly?
  3. How do I determine what to spend my time on?
  4. How do I optimize my career path?
  5. Should I move into management or grow as an individual sales professional?
  6. How can I become a better sales manager and grow people?
  7. How to engage at events?
  8. How to best communicate upwards?
  9. How do I get to the next level and stay there?
  10. How do I brand myself?
  11. How much responsibility should I take?
  12. How to get better at negotiation skills because if you don’t ask, you don’t get?
  13. How to build confidence that I can ask for things and not be afraid?
  14. How to work with men or women that are older than me?
  15. How much should I socialize at work?
All the answers to the question lies on the environment that is set by the company by the image since the time of her interview to the date she joined and whom they are joining with.
By creating and nurturing a work environment conducive to open communication, fairness, and the reduction of implicit bias is one of the most difficult changes to implement, especially for companies lagging behind the diversity movement. To begin developing connections unhampered by gender stereotypes throughout departments, start by completely opening the line of communication between managers and employees.
Your employees should always feel as if they have a safe space where they can talk about things that negatively impact their ability to meet or exceed their performance expectations without feeling uncomfortable or intimidated.
Winning the fight for female sales talent requires more than an attractive initiative. It takes deep insight and recognition of workplace diversity as the new symbol of 21st-century business success, along with a willingness to adapt to a rapidly-evolving sense of the global community.

Major challenge a woman faces is overcoming their perfectionism and at times ending up into tremendous nervousness. Women tend to be perfectionists. We don’t want to let anyone down—including ourselves. Above all, we don’t want to look foolish. As a result, many women in sales tend to play it safe. They pitch the safe pitch. They use the same tried and true ideas because they know that they work.

Another, amazing quality a woman possesses being in a sales team is when all your guy colleagues are discussing sports which you have no idea off. To fit in the group either speak something of their interest or just simply change the discussion and the whole group will mould to it without the second thought and you fit in.

Concluding, Are women better at sales? Is there any substantial evidence that points to this conclusion? As with success in any industry, it comes down to the individual. If it is true that women are more attentive, better listeners, more inclined to prospect, and have more opportunities for advancement that do men, then women should have an advantage over men in the sales industry.
But like any advantage, if the advantage is not used, then it ceases being an advantage at all.

Win before you play

Most of us are unaware of the meaning of pre-suasion it means- “The Process of arranging for recipients to be receptive to a message before they encounter it.
We are more likely to trust someone who trusts us. We share secrets with people who share secrets with us. People will be nice if you’re nice to them. Therefore, if you do something first, by giving them something or doing something nice for them, it is more likely to come back to you. The key is to go first and go positive with a "smile".
“When you’re smiling, when you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you.” Yes, the old song is right; smiles are contagious!
The first thing a manager teaches “Smile at the customer or client!”. Most sales professionals have a naturally upbeat personality and already smile frequently throughout the day and during interactions with customers and prospects. But this simple act also happens to be one of the most effective ways to cut through adverse situations, conflicts, and disappointment. If you’ve just been told no or a deal has fallen through, a smile is always first defence against negativity. As Lowe points out, a smile draws people in because it projects positivity.
Pre-suading plays an important role is persuading other. Most of us are unaware of the meaning of pre-suasion it means- “The Process of arranging for recipients to be receptive to a message before they encounter it.
Sales professionals are encouraged to smile at adversity. Even if we are talking with people who don’t have time or money or don’t want to listen to us, smile anyway. Don’t allow those negative emotions to take control.
On the other hand, Reciprocation is the basis of cashing in points, calling in a favour, owing other people one.
The reason it works so well is that you have two choices, you either act in a socially approved way by giving in to a request or decline and face (perceived or real) shame. And we want to say yes because this is a way to avoid confrontation.
Consistency plays a vital role in persuading. Once we have made a choice or taken a stand, we will encounter personal and interpersonal pressures to behave consistently with that commitment.
It’s easier to get people to comply with requests that they see as consistent with what they’ve already said (especially in your presence.)
Taking an example if our client promised to use your company's service, client will feel hesitate to switch to another company's service in front of you. Whereas if the client uses your company's service there will be a relation of belonging that unconsciously happens.
This is also an important interview hacks. If you ask people to state their priorities and goals and then align your proposals with that in mind you make it harder for people to say no.
Apart from all this Ever wonder why TV shows use laugh tracks? It’s so you know when to laugh. I’ll let you sit on that one for a minute. We all look for others on what to do in the time of uncertainty and marketers in advertisements take that as an clue and make the buyers do what they want to be done. Social Proof plays a vital role in persuading and persuading others. It is not add as all individuals need social proof to feel they are in same commodity and marketers takes this as an advantage to spend more time or to sell their products.
That strong felling of persuasion and liking happens when you find the other person are from same education background or like similar sports or have similar family background and you can feel the association with the other person on the basis of similarity. So, indirectly that person started liking you unconsciously. Also, people helps those whom they like and are associated with. Liking plays an important role in persuading in fact half the work is done if the opposite persons like you. Similarly, trust is essential. Creating and establishing this trust is a matter of conveying information in a way that seems like it’s in the best interest of the recipient, not the business (i.e. you).
Let's go to the people and tell them "I Like You." Trust me there will be "I Like You" in return.

Also, a person tends to remember you for a long time if there is something unique about you or a metaphor you used in 1st meeting call of mind is more in that case.
Moreover, asking open questions and making opposite people speak more make them more attached to the client.
Whenever we meet someone or want someone to listen to us we must introduce ourselves about our knowledge and position and the authority we are beholding it will make them realise of the authoritarian position and will increase the interest of odds in them which will make them to listen.
People always tend to listen someone from higher charge of or higher to them because as a child we are taught to do so and we tend to follow it blindly.
Many people do the mistake of talking about their competitors on intial phase which is more like to read a book with 1st page about other novels and not knowing more about the author of the book. While we introduce ourselves it should be unitary focus rather.
None but a sales person knows the importance of scarcity and sales and how it helps to persuade people. The sense of scarcity make people feel more eager to buy it it will be indirectly be looking like a pull product than a push product. Common psychology of humans tends to purchase products which are rare.
For every person their ego is primary and a master card for the opponent to crack a deal. “ YOU YOU YOU AND YOUR GREATNESS” is what the opponent likes to hear at any point of time and all people will like to discuss about it. The more they speak about it and let opponent know about it the more they get attached.
Be the mastermind of the game, by playing your cards carefully.

Mind Over Matter- Power of 3-6-9

You might have realized by now that there is no recipe that can make you rich overnight. Still, you can make use of some guidelines in your life and tell the universe what you want.
If you feel like it is similar to the famous law of attraction, you are completely right. Basically, it kind of works on the same principle of what you ask is what you get.
The principle is the unlimited power of the mind or as he calls it “cerebral powers”.
Nikola Tesla used to say that the world is a knowledge bank and we can receive what we want if we know how to transmit the information mentally. I always like to say that when you want something really bad, it is half-done.
“If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have the key to the universe.” We will discuss about in later half.
So you can be inspired to make the most brilliant discoveries, the wisest decisions, and by broadcasting your thoughts you can actually change and shape your life so that you fulfill your wildest desires and innermost dreams. And when we use our minds to broadcast what we want, that core will create it for us and send it to us.
As unbelievable as it might seem, science is quickly proving that Tesla was correct... we can draw knowledge and information from the universe, and you can broadcast your desires to the universe
and see the universe change based on our interaction with it.
As a very basic example, Dr. Quantum, otherwise known as physicist Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D., gives a beautiful explanation of the Double Slit Experiment. In the double slit experiment, physicists shoot electrons, the tiniest building block of our universe, at 2 slits in a barrier. Some of the electrons pass through slit 1, some through slit 2 and some bounce off the barrier. Behind the barrier with slits is another barrier which is treated so it will record where the electrons strike. When the scientist actively observe the experiment in action, everything works like it should. But when scientist let the experiment run and only observe the recorded results on the second barrier, something amazing happens. The electrons show a wave interference pattern on the second barrier. The only way that could happen is if the electron went through each slit separately, both slits and neither slit all at the same time .Huh?!? How could a single electron go through each slit, both slits and neither slit, all at the same time? It's because electrons exist in something called quantum superposition when they aren't observed.
In other words, the scientists interaction with the universe changed the universe at the smallest level. The scientists didn't want any particular outcome, it just happened as a result of their interaction/observation of the electrons. If simply watching the electrons, with no expectation or desire about the outcome, changes the universe, what do you think can happen when we focus on a specific outcome? The answer is, we can change the universe at the most fundamental levels, which allows us to create and get anything we want out of life. I know it seems mind boggling, but stick with me, because I'm going to prove it to you! Let's set the double slit experiment to the side for just a minute and we'll get back to it. At this point, just remember, the electrons existed in quantum super position, which means every possibility was happening at the same time.
In short, people imagined something they wanted, used their conscious mind to focus on that outcome, and the universe made that outcome a reality.
And that power, the power to envision something, to conceive it in your imagination, is exactly how the Tesla CODE works.
Imagine being able to remember everything you see in specific detail. How impressed would your boss be? Friends and family? Heck, if you put this skill to work at its fullest you could easily be rich so quickly your head would spin. Focus your concentration on any target or goal to ensure it will now to you with ease. Anyone who ever achieved anything will tell you the most important key to achievement is focus. Without focus, you're adrift in a sea of distractions. Tesla Code Secrets will give you laser like focus guaranteed to make you unstoppable. Release any and all stress in seconds.

What is the code 369 all about?
There are different theories about it few are:

1.         3 – Individual person: the Holy Trinity, Mind, Body and Spirit conceived or rather the awakening of the Christos (when the spirit comes to life for the first time is known as immaculate conception).
6 – The condition: the end of the dark age of Pisces, the beginning of Aquarius
9 – The way: For what's to come, you have to balance the 9 enzymes that make up Oxytocin and detox the body to rid toxins from Laminin (vitamin C = 8 infinity)

2.         3: The number 3 represents the omni-present spiritual component of life. The atom is the manifestation of The Holy Trinity, which is the union of the Neutron (Father), Proton (Son) and Electron (The Holy Spirit). The Aether is the proton-neutron framework which allows electron flow, the force behind everything. The number three also represents the home of Elohim, Orion’s Belt also known as The Three Sisters.

6: The number 6 represents the physical component of life, the matter. Life energy in everything is the result of the “void” which is the force behind the carbon manifestation of matter and life. Carbon 12 is The Creator’s autographed building block; He left the signature 666 in it in a form of 6 neutrons, 6 protons and 6 electrons. The number six represents the flesh and earthly possessions, that what is not eternal but bound to Earth. It is the unity of body and mind.

9: The number 9 represents god consciousness/ divine completion or the all-seeing eye. It is the result of resonance between 3 and 6 and is represented by the tip of the pyramid. If there is balance or yin yang between the spiritual life and the physical life, there is harmony (resonance). Once this divine consciousness manifests, it amplifies into divine wisdom with regard to humanity as God gave humanity dominion over all animals. When 3 and 6 resonate, the third eye will open, resulting in the ability to see higher dimensions and ultimately the truth.

3. Divide 3 6 9 into 3 equal parts as in The Holy Trinity, and you will get number 6 6 6.
 3 + 6 + 9 = 18 = 6 + 6 + 6 Number 18 represents life

In short, Positive energy attracts positive actions. Positive actions attract positive people. Positive people bring us happiness and calmness.

We have the ability toaccess a core of unlimited knowledge and broadcast our desiresto a core of inexhaustible creative potential

JAMAI SOSHTI(A Son-in-law day)

Like as I already said you will never get bored in bengal neither with bengali's. As, there is something will keep on happening around a bengali whether it is politics, football, food or festivals. It is said we got 13 festivals in 12 months (now you can imagine where we spend our time what makes us always happy).

There comes a particular day in mid-June as Jamai Sashti, and the whole Bengal will look like full of awkward looking men semi happy and confused, of varying ages, dressed a little better than the ordinary, probably wearing a dhoti or punjabi going towards there in-laws house with a big smile on face (out of no reason, just a gesture of happiness).
On, the other hand the mother-in-law "Sansuri" after the whole day of fasting will be waiting eagerly for his " Jamai".
Image result for jamai sasthi 2019

After the arrival the over excited mother-in-law performs a small ritual for her jamai. The sons-in-law are welcomed by their in-laws in the traditional manner with a “Phota” of curd on his forehead and a yellow thread is tied on the right hand wrist. The thread is colored yellow with turmeric and is called “Sashti Suto” (which is also being tied to own children's wrist, as a kid I always have a fascination over it) which have the blessings of Maa Sashti. The sons-in-law get gifts, sweets and fruits from mother-in-laws and sons-in-law give also gifts to mother-in-laws as return gifts.
Now starts the main festival," festival of food " (a bengali family without food festival is just next to impossible) mother-in-law performs the ritual in which a plate with six delicious fruits which includes mangoes and lichis compulsarily is touched with the Jamai’s forehead. Whole event being the less important part the main attractions starts when Jamai's plate is surrounded by little katoris (bowls) full of different delicacies, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and the jamai has to perform the supremely important task of the day – eat as much as he can. The whole ritual underlines what is at the centre of all Bengali rituals and celebrations – a grand meal. Few compulsory important food items will be Hilsa Fish (Bengal's emotion, over-hyped price nothing less than 1200-1500 a Kg), Chingri macher malaikari(prawn cooked with coconut and mustard, which will make you feel heavenly at any time).
Image result for bengali food thali

Atlast, comes a plate of sweets and misti doi (how can a bengali meal is completed without sweets).Image result for plate of bengali sweetsImage result for plate of bengali mishti doi
he ritual behind this festival is that the son-in-law will be closer to the in-law family. Thus, it is symbolized as unite between two families. As we know that Bengalis are famous for their love for food (so we do it over the food).
A special gift for this day comes from our government at times a half day leave (isn't it a cheery on cake?)

                                  EVERY JAMAI GOT A DAY!!!

'Butt' on Wheels

"Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul."-Unknown

Adventure motorcycle rides are considered to be the perfect activity for those who live their life on edge. An enthralling trip to exciting destinations of India is the perfect option for those who like to confront challenges and handle them with ease. If you’re one of them, then you should join such adventure rides to explore famous destinations.
When it comes to adventure motorcycle trips, Ladakh and Himalaya are the first preferred names that tend to strike the minds of experienced bikers. They are the most suitable places to conduct motorcycle adventure tours in India.

This is mainly because of the routes and the common passes that people get to cover in such mountainous regions. Some of these passes include the famous Nathu La, Khardung La, Rohtang and Bara-Lacha . These famous passes are situated at high altitudes near or at the Himalayan range and are used by riders during adventure motorcycle vacations.
Apart from scary passes, they are also known for rugged and steep roads where riding becomes more of a dare for riders. Besides, the unpredictable weather conditions and heavy snow fall are enough to create an exciting adventure for riders during their trip. This is also one of the reasons why some mountain routes are accessible only for 4 to 6 months throughout a year.
Before embark on your motorcycle tour, you should take care of a few things, so that you can fully enjoy your journey. Choosing your ride wisely is the most important thing. A lot of people think a long motorcycle trip means getting themselves a Royal Enfield Bullet. While, the Royal Enfield motorcycles are great for long rides, it's recommended that you ride a motorcycle you are comfortable with and not a motorcycle that others recommend. Make sure that you have good riding experience on this type of motorcycle so that you will know how to control it in tough conditions.

Do your research and find the one you can easily handle and take care of. Bikes with a softer seat, different handlebar, sharp headlights, and guards are better when you are going on an off-road trip. A 'cool looking bike' shouldn't be the only matter of concern for you. To have a smooth and successful road trip, having the right ride is crucial.
“The Brand is not important, the fact you ride is.”

These are the few bikes which are generally preferred at road trips:

Royal Enfield Himalayan-

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is the least-priced adventure motorcycle in the country. Also, it's the most modern Royal Enfield model you can buy today. It's powered by a 411-cc, single-cylinder engine that outputs 24 bhp and 32 Nm. The Himalayan comes with an onboard compass that helps the rider navigate efficiently. The Himalayan offers a high ground clearance of 220 mm and high-set exhaust, which helps it easily wade through deep water crossings.

Royal Enfield Bullet-

The Royal Enfield Bullet has been among the most iconic motorcycles around. While it's too fast or too sharp in the corners, it offers a lot of old world charm and a relaxed riding position. It's powered by a 346-cc, single-cylinder engine that outputs 19.8 bhp and 28 Nm. It's also available with a 499-cc motor that offers 27.2 bhp and 41.3 Nm. Both the motors offer decent low-end torque, which makes it easy for this motorcycle to tackle steep inclines. The torque also helps the rider carry a lot of luggage.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F-

While the Bajaj Pulsar 220F is at the fag-end of its career, it still makes for a decent long-distance tourer. It offers a punchy 220-cc motor that has been refined by its manufacturer over the last few years. It outputs 20.8 bhp and 19.12 Nm. The 220 is also pretty well priced and costs less than Rs. 1 lakh (on-road). It also offers an excellent headlamp and decent high-speed stability.

Kawasaki Versys 650-

The Versys (an amalgamation of Versatile and System) is a bike that really lives up to its name. Once the Japanese company realised that there was a growing need for adventure/tourers in the market, they created the Versys. It is a perfect blend of tourer and adventurer which is powered by the same 650cc engine from the Ninja. In addition to that, it comes with dual ABS, adjustable suspension and the most comfortable riding position ever on a Kawasaki.

Triumph Tiger 800-

One of the most well-known adventure bikes across the world, the Triumph Tiger is now making waves in the Indian market. There are 8 variants of the Tiger – 4 adventure focused and 4 touring focused. The Triumph Tiger carries the invulnerable tag of reliability which when coupled with features like traction control, switchable ABS, adjustable seat height and the legendary Triumph 800cc triple, makes for the ideal touring / adventure bike.

Suzuki V-Strom-

The V-Strom is available in two variants – one with a 650 cc engine and the other with a 1000 cc engine. Both engines are extremely refined, as is expected from a Suzuki, and the bike is a very capable adventurer. Apart from that comical beak thing under the headlamp though, the V-Strom is a very good tourer and adventurer that can be ridden in rough terrain as easily as on a smooth highway.

Ducati Multistrada 1200-

Leave it to the Italians to fit a superbike-spec engine in an adventure bike and that’s exactly what they’ve done with the newest Multistrada. Powered by a massive 1200 cc engine that produces a whopping 162 PS of power and 136 Nm of torque, the Multistrada is the best way to cover distances regardless of the road’s conditions. Add to that a ridiculously long list of best-in-class features and you have your dream bike for your next road trip, provided of course you can shell out the money that all Ducatis demand.

Bajaj Dominar-

The flagship motorcycle from Bajaj Auto Ltd has been rather quick to establish itself in the bike market. The Dominar is a feature-laden offering that offers some excellent features like the full-LED headlamp. It's powered by a 373.3-cc motor that finds its roots in the KTM Duke 390's powerplant. However, the motor has been re-tuned to offer 35 PS of max power and 35 Nm of peak torque. The Dominar offers a very comfortable riding position that is just correct for 'sports touring'. It's easily among the best long-distance touring motorcycles that you can buy for roughly Rs. 1.5 lakh.

·                                        Never touch someone else's bike without asking first.

For many people, a motorcycle is like a girlfriend. You wouldn't just walk up to someone's girlfriend and grab them - unless you have really good medical insurance - and the same applies to someone's bike. Aside from the fact it's considered incredibly rude, people may assume you're trying to steal a bike instead of just feel it up. If the owner isn't around to ask permission, you'll just have to ogle the bike instead of touching it.

·     Pack light

You can find a variety of luggage carriers for motorbikes available today. The best ones are saddlebags, which can be easily fixed on the sides or back seat of the bike. Other great bag ideas include tail-bags and tank bags, which include magnets to hug your tank right away.
In addition to choosing the right bag, you must also decide on your luggage very carefully. When going on a road trip on a motorbike always prefer packing light. Get disposable stuff so you can discard it after use. Carry sachets instead of bottles for most of the things. Avoid carrying a lot of changes of clothes either
Make a list and prioritize all the essential items before you are set to pack.
·
·     Dress appropriately

For road trips - especially on a motorbike - dressing appropriate is imperative. Always try wearing riding pants, a comfortable t-shirt, ankle boots, a full-face helmet, and bring the jacket you feel most comfortable with.
If you are expecting a bumpy ride on two wheels, it's best to pick elbow and knee guards for more protection. Wear fitted clothes as baggy gear can cause discomfort for long distance riding.
“Being a biker is more than riding a bike you feel it in your heart and soul.”
·
    Always wear a helmet

Invest in a good helmet. Do not buy a cheap one to save a few bucks. They’re not going to be much help if, God forbid, you crash. Try out different helmets to see the one that is right and don’t forget to fasten the straps.

Image result for wear a helmet

A couple of must know pointers would be – Helmets need to be full-faced. There are half faced helmets that look cool but that jaw won’t be smiling in case you suffer a fall. Choose one that fits you well.  Too loose a helmet will offer little protection. Too tight will result in discomfort, painful earlobes and so on. Always keep your visor clean. All that dust and grime that settles on the visor as you ride will affect  your visibility.

·    Service your bike

Long-distance motorcycle touring will demand not only a lot from you as a rider but also from your machine. When riding to remote places any fault with the mechanics is not the thing you want. Finding a service centre or even a decent mechanic may be a task in itself. Avoid it. Get your bike serviced.
At regular intervals, you should always keep an eye on clutch plates, Air filter spark/spark plug, Clutch/Accelerator/Brake cables, Tires, Oil levels and get them replaced when needed. These are essential to a long and healthy life of your steed.
While other checks that  for a  motorbike touring are-
-Suspension: If you are riding to some remote locations chances are the roads might be very bumpy and will take a toll on the luggage as well as your behind

·     Ride as if all car drivers are trying to kill you-

It's not just right of way car drivers seem to neglect if motorcycles are involved. Actions like signaling before a lane change, staying out of a motorcyclist’s lane and not cutting off motorcycles are all things cagers fail at spectacularly. If you're on a bike, even if someone is looking directly at you, assume you are invisible. Even if they do manage to see you, you should still assume trying to run you over will be their next move.

·         Stay hydrated
Factors like 'hydration' often take a backseat when considering all important aspects of a motorbike road trip. You need to be backed up for proper hydration while on the go. Hydration is essential and if stopping for water bothers you, consider investing in a hydration pack. The water bottle in a bag not only keeps the water cold but also comes with a long tube that you can use for drinking water without stopping.

Keeping yourself hydrated is very important to be on top of your game.
·
·         Take breaks
You may need more rest while on a biking road trip than you usually take. Sitting on a bike for long hours without a break can cause saddle sores. Know when your body and bike are asking you to stop for a break.
Avoid going overboard with it as it will only lengthen your trip and eventually make it frustrating. Use the break to rest and also to check if you need to refuel your tank and if your bike is in good conditions. This will save you from unexpected difficult circumstances.

·         Don't lose the map

This is the perfect time to embrace technology and rely on GPS if you are not good at remembering roads. If you want to take this to the next level, consider investing in a helmet with Bluetooth so that it can provide you GPS directions.
In case you are traveling to remote areas with no network, carrying the hardcopy of maps can be really helpful. It can at least give you a fair sense of the area you are in. Also, asking locals for directions is better than getting lost.

·         Eat at weird times.

Everyone and their dog eats around 8 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. So if you want to get in and out of restaurants quickly, plan ahead so you’re not hungry at those times.
·         Don't ride upset, angry, or in a hurry.
Riding a motorcycle requires concentration and a level head. If you're upset, pissed off or distracted, you're going to start making choices that could leave you as modern art decorating the pavement. When you're furious about something, calm down before you get on your bike. Also, racing to get somewhere may just result in you being raced to the hospital, so be willing to be a few minutes late instead of being dead.

·         Carry a spare key.

Hide your spare somewhere on your bike using a zip-tie or duct tape, or trade keys with a traveling companion.

·         MAINTAIN AN OPTIMAL RIDING SPEED

This is a case of discretion. Ride at a speed which you are comfortable with and most importantly will have complete control of the machine. Preferably, find a speed of 55-65 km an hour an ideal one. It works perfectly for me. Within, you can very well control the bike in case of sudden need to apply brakes,  and at the same time enjoy the views on the road. Also, end up in covering a good amount of distance at the end of the day.
You’ll sometimes encounter a hot head on the road trying to challenge you to a race or simply piss you off with his speed. Do not ride to crush his ego. You might end up crashing your head.

·         Set yourself up for a quick getaway.
If you’re nearing the end of your riding day, you can set yourself up for a quick getaway in the morning by riding to the far side of the next city you reach before stopping. This will eliminate time lost in urban traffic the next morning.
“Travelling in cars is like watching a movie, travelling in bike is starring in it.

Use the envelope system to stay organized.

Going on a long, complex trip? Before you leave, prepare one envelope for each day on the road. Mark the outside of each envelope with dates and locations, then stuff them with things like hotel reservation info and lists of things you’d like to see. Instead of juggling your entire stack of literature to find the information you’re looking for, you can just open up that day’s envelope.
·         Look your bike over every morning before hitting the road.
Checking the simple stuff—air pressure, oil level, loose or missing fasteners—only takes a little time, and it can save you from big trouble.  Here’s a great motorcycle pre-ride checklist you can follow.
·
       Be prepared for unexpected weather

Unlike a car trip, you need to be more cautious of weather conditions when going on a motorcycle road trip. It may start pouring unexpectedly, or the temperature might be higher than normal - ensure that you are prepared to deal with it.
Carrying raincoats and riding gear that provide proper cover for your luggage is a must.
·
·    Get those earplugs

Sometimes it can get extremely loud on the highway. So, once you hit the main road, put your earplugs on to avoid extreme pressure on your ears. As an alternative, you can even use headphones and play your favorite music to enjoy your first solo biking road trip.
·
      Carry all your paper work

Make 2 copies of your insurance, registration, driving license and any other documents that you may need. Usually, most bikes have a small compartment where you can tuck the papers, first aid, and small tools. Put the first set of copies on the bike and the second with your daypack. If you’re riding to some remote areas which require a permit, research all the info about how to get that permit. And carry that too.

Have enough cash

Plan for a day of nothing-

On a long tour, plan for at least one day per week of doing nothing. Time is the ultimate luxury; it can mean the difference between a vacation and an endurance run.

Stay motivated

The most exciting part of a motorbike road trip is when you start enjoying it to the core. That's when the experience will become outright beautiful. Feeling tired and frustrated can mess up the entire plan. So, keep the spirit high no matter the circumstances. Though, it is inconvenient to carry cash, have enough of it. Some stores, restaurants or hotels might not accept the particular card you’re carrying. Also in some parts of the world, cards are still not a popular form of payment. Or some are too remote for any kind of internet or telephone connectivity.

When you park your bike next to other bikes, be sure to leave enough room for the other rider to mount up
